Research Interest
Essentially, I try to better understand the links between emotion regulation and psychopathology, mainly through the study of mental functioning (mentalization, alexithymia). Part of my work focuses on a theoretical analysis of these themes, with a mainly psychoanalytic approach, which integrates elements of theories of emotions. I also carry out empirical research using several methodological strategies: discourse analysis (quantitative and qualitative), creation and use of questionnaires, experimental tasks, etc. I created the Grid of the Verbal Development of Affect (GÉVA), a verbal measure of the mentalization of emotions, which is at the center of many works. List of research axes: Mentalization and emotional regulation Exploration of the forms of alexithymia Study of the mentalization of emotions in psychopathology, particularly depression and borderline disorder Analysis of the role of sadness and positive emotions in mentalization Assessment and treatment of mental functioning.
