Research Interest
His interests in prehistoric archeology focus on the human-environment interface of the main transitions in the history of our species, including the transition from the Middle Paleolithic to the Upper Paleolithic and the transition to agriculture (the "Neolithic Revolution"). I am particularly interested in the impact of humans on their environments during these key moments in the history of our species as well as the influence of climatic factors on the evolution of human behavioral strategies. These phenomena are studied both by means of fieldwork in Northern Italy (Liguria) and Mozambique, and by various experimental models.
