Research Interest
Sabourin Paul's research focuses on the sociology of practices and forms of knowledge of the economy. In this context, I researched private and state-owned companies, food aid practices in Quebec and the poverty experienced in various social environments and the heterodox genesis of economic thought in Quebec. Currently, I study the socialization of young people to the economy. Another part of my research and publications deals with fundamental sociology dealing with qualitative methodology, with sociological epistemology in order to examine the possibilities of cumulative sociological knowledge. Thus, I study the conceptualization of space and social time, social memory as well as the methodological approaches to the construction of sociological data, qualitative analysis methods as well as the methodological approach of case study. sociology. These works are based on the consideration of the social localization of social practices and forms of knowledge, including that of the sociologist, and are inspired by the classical works of Maurice Halbwachs.
