Research Interest
Our research follows in the tradition of what has become known as the "Montreal School" whose purpose is organizational communication, conceived not as communication within the organization but rather as organization as communication or even the organization in the communication. This research aims at the discovery and explanation of the "organizing", or the dynamic establishment of the foundations of the order in the conversations of the members, and the materialization of their activities in the texts and other artifacts they produce. We are currently exploring, using direct observations and interviews with members, the phenomenon of authority, in accordance with the assumption that the organization must have, to exist, one or more author (s). The challenge of maintaining authority is made particularly problematic by any very rapid technological innovation in the field of communication.
