Research Interest
Teitelbaum Sara's research interests are in the participatory dimensions of natural resource management, with a particular focus on northern regions. Through the comparative study of the Boreal Forest Management Framework in a variety of settings, I became interested in the evolution of governance, including decentralization, public participation, and the reconciliation of diverse knowledge systems. Through my research projects, I work with aboriginal and non-aboriginal communities in Canada and Scandinavia. I also collaborate on comparative research that examines transformations in rural economies by questioning the relationships between rural communities and the natural environment. I work mainly with qualitative methods.
