Biography
Tiiu Poldma is a Full Professor & Director of the Research Group on Illumination and Design (GRID) and the FORME-COULEUR-LUMIÈRE Laboratory Regular researcher at the Center for Interdisciplinary Research in Rehabilitation of Metropolitan Montreal Researcher and executive member at the Living Lab RehabMALL, the Living Rehabilitation Laboratory Certified interior designer APDIQ Member of Interior Designers of Canada (DIC) Ms. Poldma has been a professional interior designer since 1982. She was an Associate Professor at Dawson College (1987-2000) in the Department of Interior Design and Program Coordinator (1997-2000), where she took the program to CIDA Accreditation. . She joined the Faculty of Planning as a visiting professor in January 2000 and has been a full professor since 2012. She has extensive expertise in interior design and human behavior in workplaces, retail outlets , various institutions (accommodation facilities for seniors, schools, daycares, rehabilitation centers, among others), entertainment (restaurants, cafes, hotels, recreation centers, among others), and various forms of housing. Ms. Poldma teaches in the Bachelor of Interior Design program and supervises students in Directed Studies, Dissertations and Ph.D. theses at the three levels of study at the Faculty of Planning. She was Vice Dean, Graduate Studies (2006-2014) and Research (2006-2010), MASC Program Coordinator. and Ph.D. at the Faculty (2006 - 2014), interior design program coordinator (2012-2014), and coordinator of the third year of the Bachelor's degree in interior design until 2014 She is interested in pedagogical activities related to the design project as well as the development of research methodologies for all three cycles, including interpretative and collaborative approaches in research methodologies. Research Interest
Tiiu Poldma is Director of the Research Group in Enlightenment and Design (GRID) where she directs the FORME-COULEUR-LUMIÈRE Laboratory. She has been a regular researcher (since 2005), at the Center for Interdisciplinary Research in Rehabilitation of Montreal (CRIR), and associated with the Research Center of Gingras-Lindsay-de-Montréal Rehabilitation Institute of CIUSSS Center-Sud-de-l'Ile -from Montreal. Ms. Poldma is a co-principal investigator, and as a member of the Executive, the RehabMALL Rehabilitation Living Lab Project, a large-scale strategic innovation project (FRQ_S, 2011-2016, $ 1.4 million) which is located at Alexis Nihon, Montreal. In addition, with J. Piché, Principal Investigator, and nine other researchers at the Université de Montréal (computer scientists, visual artists, designers, musicians, architects and filmmakers), His research interests include aging, various aspects of interior design, and shape, color and light and its effects on our well-being and human behavior. She is interested in intersectoral projects that promote universal approaches, and the role of stakeholders in various types of development projects. Ms. Poldma is also interested in issues of adaptation of the indoor environment for diverse populations, issues related to the integration of design into everyday social life, temporal approaches to design processes and the role of lived experience. in real time.
