Biography
Professor David is an Emeritus Professor in the Department of Mathematics and Statistics, at University of Ottawa, Canada. He is interested primarily in applied probability with an emphasis on telecommunications. His recent work deals with the analysis of rare events such as buffer overflows in a network of queues. He has also considered overflows of an ATM switch driven by heterogeneous traffic sources. The asymptotic theory suggests methods for accelerating simulations of large systems. To put these methods into practice I undertake simulation projects using the C++ library Sims. Some of my projects are collaborations with local high tech companies. He is the author of many articles published in several reputed journals.
