Biography
Dr. Douglas is working as an Associate Professor in Department of Biology, at University of Ottawa, Canada. His main interest is trying to answer the questions “How are plant genes regulated” and “what role do insulators play in this process?” Insulators are sequences that can block the effects of enhancers on promoters and/or help to define chromatin regions such as boundaries between euchromatin and heterochromatin. Plant insulators have potential to isolate transgenes from the influence on sequences flanking sites of insertion such as promoters. He is the author of many articles published in several reputed journals.
