Biography
Dr. Mayer is working as an Associate Professor in the Department of Chemistry and Biomolecular Sciences, at University of Ottawa, Canada. His research is in gas-phase ion chemistry. Thye study the mechanisms, kinetics, thermodynamics and dynamics of the unimolecular reactions of small gas-phase ions. They use a combination of tandem mass spectrometry, collision-spectroscopy, photoelectron-photo ion coincidence spectroscopy (at a synchrotron in the UK) and high-level theory to explore the unique aspects of the chemistry of species related to atmospheric chemistry, combustion chemistry and the interstellar environment. They also have projects in environmental and polymer analytical chemistry. He is the author of many articles published in several reputed journals.
