Biography
Dr. Piercy is working as an Associate Professor in the Department of Physics, at University of Ottawa, Canada. He studies the microscopic morphology of the surfaces of crystalline solids, using low-energy electron diffraction methods. Non-equilibrium surface roughness is characterized statistically on the nanometer scale, to detect the growth and relaxation of a distribution of surface and near-surface defects created by low-energy ion bombardment. He is the author of many articles published in several reputed journals.
Research Interest
Experimental Condensed Matter Physics, Surface physics, Low energy electron diffraction, Diffusion, Annealing, Lattice deformation.
