Stephen Newman
Assistant Professor
Chemistry and Biomolecular Sciences
University of Ottawa

Biography
Dr. Newman is working as a Professor in Department of Chemistry and Biomolecular Sciences, at University of Ottawa, Canada. His research group is interested in developing new chemical reactions and processes for application in the pharmaceutical, fine, and bulk chemical industries. Transition metal catalysis and flow chemistry strategies play a central role in our studies. Towards the goal of overcoming the chemical industry's reliance on crude oil, renewable starting materials such as those derived from biomass feedstocks are employed when possible. He is the author of many articles published in several reputed journals.
