Biography
William Gardner is a child psychologist and mental health services researcher. He studies children’s mental health interventions, statistical methods, psychiatric measurement, and health system change. He is a senior research scientist at the Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario (CHEO, Ottawa, ON), a professor of epidemiology at the University of Ottawa, and in 2016 he will become the CHEO RI and University of Ottawa Chair in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. He was previously professor of pediatrics at Dalhousie University (Halifax, NS) and professor of pediatrics, psychology, and psychiatry at The Ohio State University (Columbus, OH). His work has been supported by the US National Institute of Mental Health, National Institute of Drug Abuse, Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, and Agency for Health Research and Quality, and the Canadian Institutes for Health Research.
