Joël Thibeault is a Professor in Department of Education at University of Regina, Canada.

Research Interest

Joël Thibeault's research focuses on the teaching and learning of French grammar in a plurilingual and minority context, and the sociolinguistic issues that underlie it. His research also focuses on the didactic potential of youth literature for the teaching of language conventions and the didactics of plurilingualism. Joël Thibeault's research focuses on the teaching and learning of French grammar within plurilingual and minority settings, as well as on the sociolinguistic issues that characterize the practice of French teachers who work in these educational environments. He is also interested in the use of children's literature in the teaching of linguistic conventions and the role of the learner’s first language when teaching the grammar of an additional language.
