Biography
Dr. Sami Helewa, S.J., is a Jesuit priest, director of the Catholic Studies at Campion College, and an assistant professor at the department of Religious Studies and teaches Arabic at the International Languages Department at the University of Regina, starting this Fall of 2013. He was an editor of the G 7 Report, a bi-monthly publication in Economics, and has published several articles in that field. Dr. Helewa has his doctorate on medieval Islam from the University of Edinburgh (2012) and has written his thesis on the Tales of the Prophets as narrative advisory function for leadership. His academic interest encompasses Arabic, short stories as narrative advice literature, and the relationship of the QurʾÄn with Biblical stories.
