Biography
Sarah Abbott's independent film and video work has received many grants, awards, international festival selections and television broadcasts. The scope of her projects ranges from personal meditations to collaborations to directing cast and crew in all genres. Her work aims to push boundaries of expression and stimulate viewer involvement. Subject matter Sarah Abbott engages includes issues of race and human rights, experience of being, the body, memory, sexuality, the environment and technology. Between degrees, Sarah taught English in Kyoto, Japan, tended sheep in southern France, and freelanced in various capacities in Toronto's film and video community. She is a founder of mispon – A Celebration of Indigenous Filmmaking, Regina’s Aboriginal non-profit film festival and advocacy collective.

Issues of being, human rights, ethics, the environment, Indigenous cultures and issues, and community engagement.
