Research Interest
Dr. Lockhart's health systems research examines the effectiveness of regionalization, both in terms of stewardship and measurable system performance. Stewardship research examines the perceived strengths and weaknesses of health system managers given their evolving roles as stewards and their agency relationship with provincial governments. Health system performance indicators compare the performance of regional and provincial health systems in both process measures and the achievement of health outcomes. These indicators are used by health systems officials as performance benchmarks and identification of performance leaders.
