Biography

My clinical background is within Neonatal and Theatre nursing and I have held a variety of clinical and educational posts related to these areas or practice. I broadened my clinical education experience by working within the North West WBEF (work based education facilitator) network supporting the development of assistant practitioners in a diverse range of settings. This was perhaps the most rewarding of my clinical education roles as it taught me the value of the wider healthcare workforce and the need to develop practitioners who are equipped to work together effectively. I have extensive experience of supporting practitioners of various professions to develop their expertise in the delivery of effective mentorship and education to new members of their profession. I find this a very rewarding and interesting subject and enjoy the challenges and interesting discussions it brings. Trust and partnership are topics within education that I am particularly passionate about. This is particularly the case when they are applied to the incorporation of patient experience within the education of new and existing practitioners.
