Biography
Dr Fang joined the faculty in 1999 following postdoctoral training at the University of Saskatchewan and an assistant professor position at the University of Alberta. He graduated from China Pharmaceutical University in 1986 and completed his PhD training at King’s College London in 1991. He teaches Pharmacokinetics and Biopharmaceutics.
Research Interest
Dr. Fang’s research team is pursuing an interdisciplinary research program on the absorption and health effects of antioxidants in prairie fruits.Current research projects include: • Factors influencing the absorption of saskatoon berry antioxidants in healthy volunteers. • Anti-inflammatory and anti-oxidative effects of saskatoon berries in smokers. • Food pattern in rural Canadian prairies and relevance to health. • Absorption, distribution, metabolism and excretion of anthocyanins.
