Kenneth Fox

Biography

Ken Fox is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Accounting. Ken completed his PhD at the University of Alberta. During his doctoral studies, Ken was a visiting PhD Fellow in the accounting department at the London School of Economics. Ken is a member of CPA Saskatchewan, as well as the Saskatchewan Chapter of the Institute of Internal Auditors. Ken holds Bachelor of Commerce and Master of Professional Accounting degrees from the University of Saskatchewan. Ken's industry work experience is in internal audit and internal control compliance analysis for companies in the mining industry. Ken's public practice experience was gained with a local accounting firm and the local office of a Big Four accounting firm. In addition to working throughout Canada and the USA, Ken’s work has taken him to Central Asia and the West Indies. Ken’s research focusses on the circulation of accounting information in financial markets. Influenced by the emerging Actor-Network Theory based Social Studies of Finance, Ken’s research analyses the dynamics of price formation that affect calculative practices. From this perspective, Ken examines the production and communication of financial performance measures by public companies, and the use of that information in the equity valuation models of financial analysts.

Research Interest

Ken’s research focusses on the circulation of accounting information in financial markets. Influenced by the emerging Actor-Network Theory based Social Studies of Finance, Ken’s research analyses the dynamics of price formation that affect calculative practices.
