Biography
Mark Klassen is an Assistant Professor at the Edwards School of Business in the Department of Accounting. Mark joined the faculty at the Edwards School of Business in 2004 as a term instructor while he pursued his Ph.D. at the Lancaster University Management School, which was completed in 2013. He has taught various classes in management accounting, accounting theory and information systems in the undergrad, MPacc and MBA programs. Mark has an extensive practitioner background as previous to joining the University of Saskatchewan, he was employed as a senior manager at Deloitte Consulting and EDS. As a teacher, Mark was awarded the MPacc Professor of the Year Award in 2013 and strives to blend his practitioner background with his academic and accounting knowledge. Professionally, Mark has been an active member in the accounting profession and in 2010 was awarded a fellowship by his professional peers (FCPA, FCMA). He has been actively involved in student organizations and received the John Dobson Fellowship Award from SIFE Canada (now Enactus) for his contributions. Mark has been actively researching in the field of management control and innovation and currently has 5 peer reviewed publications in international journals.
