Biography

Principal Investigator and Director of: Transdisciplinary Research Program on the Social, Ethical, Medical and Legal Aspects of Reproductive Genetics and Reproductive Genetics. Participation in the development of the Ministerial Action Plan on the Organization of Genetic Services in Quebec: Lamarche MC, D Ouellet, CM Lanouette, S Fortin, G Roy, MH Vachon, C Bouffard & C Giguère Organization of genetic services in Quebec, action plan for the MSSS, Quebec. Vice-president of the Société Française Francophone d'Ethique Médicale (Sffem) Scientific Steering Committee of the International Institute for Research in Biomedical Ethics (IIREB) 

Research Interest

Pre Bouffard develops modes of production of knowledge and acquisition of translational skills, based on learning, co-training and collaborative work. She is interested in the social, medical, ethical and legal aspects of human genetics. It works concurrently on joint problems simultaneously exploring different levels of reality of the same phenomenon (development of a genetic test, transfer to a clinic, health policy, societal impacts on genetics). For example, team researchers develop prenatal noninvasive diagnosis (NPD) from fetal cells circulating in maternal blood. At the same time, Professor Bouffard studies the positions of doctors and patients
