Biography
Prof. Gris's expertise encompasses the regulation of innate immune system responses in the context of neurodegenerative diseases, using in vivo and in vitro approaches. In particular, Pr Gris is interested in the role of Nlrs proteins in the function of macrophages, microglia, astrocytes and neurons. Pr Gray uses flow cytometry, microscopy and western blotting to study the molecular mechanisms of neuroinflammation in different mouse models. Discovery Grant from the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC) to study the role of Nlrx1 in neuronal death (2011-2016). Multiple Sclerosis Society of Canada to study the role of Nlrp12 in the development of multiple sclerosis. Star Foundation Grants to Study the Role of Inflammation in Animal Behavior 2015 He served as a chair on the session at a symposium of a numerous mitochondrial diseases
