Biography
Raviraj Adve was born in Bombay, India. He received his B. Tech. in Electrical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay, in 1990 and his Ph.D. from Syracuse University in 1996. Between 1997 and August 2000, he worked for Research Associates for Defense Conversion Inc. on contract with the Air Force Research Laboratory at Rome, NY. He joined the faculty at the University of Toronto in August 2000 where he is currently holds the rank of Professor. Dr. Adve’s research interests include physical layer wireless communications and signal processing for radar systems. In wireless communications he is particularly interested in resource allocation and information acquisition in cooperative heterogeneous networks. In radar systems he is interested in waveform diversity and low-complexity space-time adaptive processing algorithms, especially for distributed radar systems. Dr. Adve is a Fellow of the IEEE.
