Biography
Alan Galey is Associate Professor in the Faculty of Information at the University of Toronto, where he also teaches in the collaborative program in Book History and Print Culture. Research Interest
Professor Galey’s research focuses on the history and future of the book, bridging the fields of book history, digital humanities, and critical information studies. In 2013 Professor Galey won the Fredson Bowers Memorial Prize, awarded by the Society for Textual Scholarship for the best textual studies article published in the preceding two years for “The Enkindling Reciter: E-Books in the Bibliographical Imagination,†published in Book History. He also received the 2013-2014 Outstanding Instructor Award, awarded by the Master of Information Student Council at the Faculty of Information to “exceptional course instructors who dedicate themselves to shaping and inspiring the next generation of information professionals.â€
