Biography

Allan C. Hutchinson, LLB (London), LLM (Manchester), LLD (Manchester), FRSC, Barrister of Gray's Inn, and of the Bar of Ontario. Holding an LL.D. from the University of Manchester and being a member of Gray’s Inn as well as the Law Society of Upper Canada, he has been a professor at Osgoode Hall Law School, York University since 1982. During that time, he has also held a variety of visiting appointments around the world, including University of Wales, London, Sydney, Monash, and Toronto. He was a Visiting Professor at Harvard Law School in 2007. He was appointed to the position of Distinguished Research Professor at York University in 2006, has been elected to the Royal Society of Canada, and has been awarded the University-wide Teaching Award.
