Biography
Cindy Chan is an Assistant Professor of Marketing in the Department of Management at the University of Toronto Scarborough. She is cross-appointed to the Marketing Area at the Rotman School of Management. Cindy researches consumer relationships, examining the social influences on and social consequences of consumer behavior. She also investigates the role of emotion in consumer relationships. Her research is published in the Journal of Consumer Research and the Journal of Consumer Psychology, and has been featured in popular press outlets including The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, Business Insider, and Scientific American. Prior to academia, Cindy worked with JWT, developing advertising campaigns for global clients including Johnson & Johnson, Reckitt Benckiser, and Nestle.
