Biography
Dr. Middleton's major interest is in the development of the Anesthesia Care Team and she has been closely involved with the development of both the Anesthesia Assistant (AA) and the Nurse Practitioner in Anesthesia (NP-A) roles. She has been the Medical Director of the AA Program at the Michener Institute since its inception and as the Medical Director of the AA Program at UHN, she has had the opportunity to oversee the rapid expansion of AA clinical practice at our institution. Likewise Dr. Middleton has been closely involved with curriculum design, teaching and clinical mentoring in the NP-A program through the Bloomberg Faculty of Nursing at the University of Toronto.
