Biography

David Scrymgeour, BCom’79, is Executive-in-Residence for the Rotman Commerce program. An accomplished entrepreneur, trouble-shooter, consultant, and corporate and community advisor, David brings a wealth of experience that will benefit Rotman Commerce students wishing to gain guidance from a successful working executive.   After graduating in 1979, Scrymgeour cut his corporate teeth at General Motors and IBM before embarking on his own consulting and entrepreneurial projects, which have taken him around the world – Australia, Britain, the Netherlands, Germany, the United States, and across Canada. As founder and owner of an information management company, he was at the vanguard of that industry’s computerization of records management.   He has also founded two skills training businesses and is currently the majority shareholder of Green Standards Ltd, a company that provides innovative, environmentally progressive solutions to corporate waste through the repurposing of used office equipment.
