Dr. Mishy Elmpak

Biography

I have been working as a Psychologist for the last 15 plus years. Over the course of my professional career, I consulted to the WSIB, The Financial Services Commission of Ontario (FSCO), the Ministry of Community and Social Services, The Canadian Centre for Victims of Torture, The Immigration and Refugee Board of Canada, the Insurance Industry, and the Rehabilitation and Legal communities. I have been primarily conducting psychological assessments, psycho-legal assessments, psycho-vocational assessments and mental health interventions for personal injury cases, malpractice issues, and psychological profiling for litigation purposes. I provide treatment interventions using various empirically validated therapy approaches such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and Hypnosis. I see clients for mental health issues such as personality disorders, trauma and anxiety disorders, depression, adjustment problems, chronic pain and various addictions. From 2005 to present, I served as the Director of Apex Centre for Integrated Health, providing psychological services, education, consultations and presentations to individuals and the community. In 2010, I joined the Toronto Poly Clinic, a multi-disciplinary clinic specializing in the management of patients in motor vehicle accidents. I have been serving as a member of the Faculty of The Adler Graduate Professional School since 2008, a Professor of Psychology in Human Development and a Director of the International Program since 2011. I am actively involved in the education and training of graduate students in clinical psychology and have supervised international students of psychology throughout my career as well as candidates preparing for certification as psychologists. I am a member of the Ontario Psychological Association, the American Psychological Association, the Positive Psychology Association, and the Society for Orthomolecular Medicine.
