Eriks Bredovskis

Biography

Eriks' dissertation examines the lived experiences of individuals in intra-urban transit systems in the early twentieth century and how those experiences influences the construction of gender and class. He specializes in Modern German from ca. 1850-1950. Eriks is studying under the supervision of Professor James Retallack. He also investigates Latvian diaspora and family histories in Canada; and experiences of civilians in warfare. His broader interests include: nationalism and nation-building; colonialism and imperialism; place-making; localism and local identity; digital humanities.
