Biography
Bruce A. Francis received the B.A.Sc. degree in Mechanical Engineering in 1969, the M.Eng. degree in Mechanical Engineering in 1971, and the Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering in 1975, all from the University of Toronto. He received a two-year NSERC Postdoctoral Fellowship in 1975 and spent the first year in the EECS Department at the University of California, Berkeley, and the second year in the Control and Management Systems Division, University of Cambridge. He held teaching and research positions at McGill University, Yale University, and the University of Waterloo, before joining the ECE Department at the University of Toronto in 1984. In January, 2012, he became Professor Emeritus. Professor Francis’s subject is control theory. Bruce A.
