Biography

ian Godfrey, BES., BArch., LLB, called to the Bar of Ontario in 1991, formerly a partner at Heenan Blaikie LLP, now Discipline Counsel with the Law Society of Upper Canada. Mr. Godfrey has practiced for over 20 years as a civil litigation lawyer, primarily in the area of corporate commercial litigation. Among other things, he has experience with complex commercial arbitration, pharmaceutical patent litigation, Mareva injunctions, Anton Pillar orders and appeals. Since joining the Law Society in July, 2014, Mr. Godfrey’s litigation practice has moved into the area of administrative law, where he now brings professional discipline cases before the Law Society Tribunal.
