Research Interest
Dr. Gaskell's research and publications have focussed on a variety of policy issues in education, including the organization of secondary education in Canada; school choice; the impact of feminism on educational policy and practice; educational approaches to poverty; the links between education and the workplace; the politics of research and policy. Her most recent book is on the history of the Toronto Board of Education from 1970 to amalgamation in 1998. Dr. Gaskell was dean of OISE from 2003 to 2010.
