Biography
I am a professor, clinical psychologist, public lecturer, business consultant, and vice-president of ExamCorp, which offers sophisticated early stage psychological screening for hiring and promotion. I was a professor at Harvard University in the 90's and am at the University of Toronto, St. George campus, presently. I published a book with Routledge in 1999 on the psychology of religion and the nature of human conflict: www.mapsofmeaning.com, and am currently under contract with Random House to publish a book on rules for living in January of 2017. I have offered a variety of public lectures, many with TVO's Big Ideas, a series that featured many public intellectuals of international reknown (http://bigideas.tvo.org/). There are a few of them showcased below, and many more available at http://bit.ly/1E4CH92, where a number of my current course lectures are also presented. I have produced online psychological interventions that help people write about their past, present and future. One of these programs has been extensively researched, and has helped more than 4000 students improve their grades by 30%, and decrease their drop-out rates by approximately the same amount (selfauthoring.com).
