Biography
The dissertation examines the structure of explanation in the Genesis section of Peter Comestor’s Historia Scholastica and its influence on two chronicles of the early thirteenth century. Research interests include medieval intellectual networks and intellectual technology; the relationship of medieval European folklore to written text; and the history of science, particularly the reception of scientific knowledge in popular culture.
