Dr. Kaiwen Xia is currently working as a Professor in the Department of Civil & Mineral Engineering, University of Toronto , Canada. His research interests includes Dynamic fracture mechanics, earthquake physics, dynamic friction, dynamic response of rock materials, impact damage, and sensor technology. Work includes laboratory studies of dynamic earthquake ruptures, dynamic friction, ISRM suggested method for rock dynamic tests, mode I and mixed mode spontaneous fractures, dynamic response of materials under elevated temperature, failure analysis of composites, mechanical properties of multi-phase granular materials, nano-adhesion of bio-inspired materials, and sensor technology.. He /she is serving as an editorial member and reviewer of several international reputed journals. Dr. Kaiwen Xia is the member of many international affiliations. He/ She has successfully completed his Administrative responsibilities. He /she has authored of many research articles/books related to Dynamic fracture mechanics, earthquake physics, dynamic friction, dynamic response of rock materials, impact damage, and sensor technology.
