Biography
Dr. da Costa received his MD from the Federal University of Minas Gerais, Brazil, in 1995 and finished his neurosurgical training in 2000, also in Brazil. He worked as a staff neurosurgeon at the Benjamin Guimarães Foundation and João XXIII State Trauma Hospital for three years before coming to Toronto for his fellowship training. He completed four years of fellowship training at the University of Toronto in Cerebrovascular Surgery, Interventional Neuroradiology and Spine Surgery and joined the Division of Neurosurgery as an Assistant Professor in September 2008. His clinical practice is mostly focused on patients with Cerebrovascular and Spine diseases.
