Biography

Lisa Cirillo, Hons. B.A. (University of Toronto) 1993, LL.B. (Queen’s) 1996, LL.M. (Osgoode) 2010; called to the Bar in 1998. Lisa has practiced human rights, family, housing and education law in a wide variety of social justice organizations including the Ontario Human Rights Commission, ARCH (Advocacy and Resource Centre for Persons with Disabilities) and Downtown Legal Services, the Faculty's community legal clinic. Lisa was a staff lawyer at DLS from 2001 – 2006, and returned in June 2010 to assume the position of Executive Director. Lisa has extensive experience in public legal education and community outreach. From 2007 – 2010, she served as project director for two provincial pubic legal education projects aimed at assisting vulnerable women and newcomers in understanding their legal rights in high priority areas of law. Lisa currently serves on the Board of Directors of ACCLE (Association of Canadian Clinical Legal Education) and as a member of the National Steering Committee for NAWL (National Association of Women and the Law).
