Biography
Max Morgan is Legal Counsel at Grand Challenges Canada where he is responsible for negotiation and execution of Transition to Scale investment and seed grant transactions, as well as for implementation of Grand Challenge Canada’s policies around global access to funded innovations and project data. Prior to joining Grand Challenges Canada, Mr. Morgan was in private practice at a Toronto-based law firm that provides legal services to innovation-driven clients. His practice centred on clients in the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries, and included intellectual property law, food and drug regulation, and litigation services. Mr. Morgan’s pro bono work has included advising an international microfinance organization, achieving political asylum for clients from Mali and Darfur, and assisting in a genocide prosecution at the International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda. He is also an adjunct professor in the University of Toronto’s Structural Genomics Consortium legal clinic externship program.
