Research Interest
Rijuta Mehta’s research focuses on postcolonial literature, visual culture, and critical theory. She is completing a book manuscript that examines anti-colonialism, close reading, and photographic histories in twentieth-century South Asia. Her work is published in South Asian Film and Media, Interventions: International Journal of Postcolonial Studies, and forthcoming in The Journal of Middle Eastern Women's Studies and The Abject Objection: Essays on the Abject, the Comic, and Ordinary Resistance in the Vernacular Arts.
