Biography
Robert Centa is the Managing Partner of Paliare Roland Rosenberg Rothstein LLP where he acts in all areas of advocacy, with an emphasis on public law and business litigation. He acts for clients in partnership and shareholder rights disputes, commercial litigation, major insolvencies, commercial arbitrations. He regularly acts for universities and other public institutions and has extensive experience in public inquiries. In 2014, he received the Douglas K. Laidlaw Medal for Excellence in Advocacy. In 1999, Mr. Centa received the gold medal and the Dean Cecil A. Wright Key from the Faculty of Law, University of Toronto. Prior to his call to the Ontario Bar, Mr. Centa clerked for the Justices of the Court of Appeal for Ontario. Mr. Centa has authored many articles and conference papers. In 2008, the University of Toronto awarded Mr. Centa the Arbor Award for outstanding voluntary service to the University of Toronto. He has previously taught in the Trial Advocacy program at the Faculty of Law.
