Dr. Ulrich Mueller is a Professor at The University Of Victoria.
Research Interest
Ulrich Mueller’s research focuses on the development of executive function (i.e., higher order cognitive skills involved in problem solving), the development of embodied cognition, and the effects of outdoor play on social and cognitive development. Dr. Mueller’s SSHRC-funded research on executive function examines the contribution of social-communicative skills (e.g., conversation, narrative, sociodramatic play) to the development of executive function skills in preschoolers. His NSERC-funded research investigates the reciprocal relation between sensorimotor processes and conceptual development in school-aged children. Dr. Mueller is also interested in and conducts research on the effects of nature-based education and outdoor play on a variety of different developmental and health outcomes.
