Biography
"Prof/Dr Anindya Sen has received his PhD in University of Toronto. Fields of Research and Teaching. Currently, he is working as Professor in University of Waterloo. He has successfully completed his Administrative responsibilities as Professor of Economics. His research has included the effects of government intervention and policy on the efficiency of markets and overall societal welfare. He serverd as a referee for Journal of Political Economy, Economic Journal, National Tax Journal, Energy Journal, Energy Economics, Canadian Journal of Economics, etc. He is the member of Faculty of Arts Task Force on Teaching, 2012-2013 and Committee that designed Masters of Public Service program. "
Research Interest
He is deeply interested in understanding the effects of government intervention and policy on the efficiency of markets and overall societal welfare. I have attempted to evaluate the effects of market structure and competition on retail prices in the gasoline and electricity markets. My research has also focused on assessing the empirical impacts of a wide variety of policies, such as stricter impaired driving laws, mandatory seatbelt legislation, cigarette taxes, and the minimum wage.
