Biography
Dr. Hassan Baaj, is working as Associate Professor in University of Waterloo. He completed his Administrative duties as Associate Chair – Pavement Materials, Norman W. McLeod Chair in Sustainable Pavements, Associate Director, Centre for Pavement and Transportation Technology in this University. He is the Member of the Editorial Board of the International Journal of Road Materials and Pavement Design, Active Member of PEO - Professional Engineers Ontario, Active Member of the OIQ - Ordre des Ingénieurs du Québec, etc,.
Research Interest
Characterisation and modelling of the behaviour of construction materials (aggregates, cement, concrete, bitumen, and asphalt mixes). Smart pavement materials and structures for the road of the future (Nanomaterials, Self-Healing Materials, Phase-Change Materials, Anti-oxidants, Connected pavements) Mechanistic pavement design methods for flexible and rigid pavements
