Dr. Hassan Baaj Research Interests includes Characterisation and modelling of the behaviour of construction materials (aggregates, cement, concrete, bitumen, and asphalt mixes). Smart pavement materials and structures for the road of the future (Nanomaterials, Self-Healing Materials, Phase-Change Materials, Anti-oxidants, Connected pavements), Mechanistic pavement design methods for flexible and rigid pavements, Optimization of the use of recycled materials in sustainable infrastructure systems (RAP, Shingles, Reclaimed Concrete Aggregate, Lightweight foam-glass artificial aggregates) and Sustainable development, Life Cycle Analysis, and environmentally friendly solutions for road construction
