Biography
Dr. Liqun Diao is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Statistics and Actuarial Science, University of Waterloo, University Avenue West, Waterloo, ON, Canada.
Research Interest
Professor Diao’s research interests lie in developing and applying statistical methods to advance knowledge in medicine and public health. Her current research effort is mainly devoted to analysis of event history processes, methodology development in recursive partitioning and the interface between the two.The first research area, analysis of event history processes is mainly concerned with modelling complex dependence structure, using copula-based models, of multifaceted event history processes including Multivariate Multistate Markov Processes, Marked Point Processes, Recurrent Event Processes with Non-ignorable Durations. The second research area involves developing recursive partitioning methods for survival and longitudinal data: i) to identify risk factors, and ii) to provide prediction about the future event at the individual and/or population level.
