Paul Calamai
Professor
SYSTEMS DESIGN ENGINEERING
University of Waterloo

Biography
Paul Calamai received his PhD (Waterloo). The focus of my research is on problems in resource management. In the past my work concentrated on a class of problems called location-allocation problems. New methodologies, as well as state-of- the-art algorithms, were developed for a large class of these problems. Industrial applications include those involving layouts (ex. plant floor, circuit component), data analysis (ex. clustering, classification), and facility location-allocation (ex. warehousing, distribution, communications).
