Biography
John G. Schwarz is currently Founder and CEO of Visier Inc, a cloud-based software business focused on delivering Analytics and Planning solutions directly to business professionals. Dr. Schwarz previously served on the executive board of SAP AG from 2008 through 2010 and as CEO of Business Objects S.A. , a provider of business intelligence software and services, from 2005 through the acquisition of Business Objects by SAP in January 2008. Prior to that, Dr. Schwarz was President and Chief Operating Officer of Symantec Corporation from 2001 through 2005. Dr. Schwarz built his career over 25 years at IBM Corporation where his last role was General Manager of IBM’s Industry Solutions unit, a worldwide organization focused on building business applications and related services. Dr. Schwarz is serving on the boards of directors of Synopsys, Inc, Teradata, Inc, as the Chairman of the Board of Avast NV and as an advisor to Dalhousie University, Halifax, Nova Scotia. Dr. Schwarz has a diploma in business administration from the University of Toronto and a degree in computer science from the University of Manitoba. In May 2004, Dr. Schwarz received an honorary doctorate from Dalhousie University.
