Biography
Mr. Thomas S. Chambers, also known as Tom, served as a Senior Advisor of Armstrong Group Ltd. Mr. Chambers serves as the President of Senior Partners Services Ltd. He served as a Partner in senior management roles with PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP for 26 years. He served as an Audit Partner of PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP from 1976 to 2002 and the Managing Partner of PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP and its predecessors Canadian audit practice from 1996 to 2001. He is an experienced professional accountant, senior executive, corporate director and business advisor. Mr. Chambers has assisted a wide range of companies in focusing on their core strategic strengths to enhance business performance. He is an acknowledged leader within the profession and business community on strategic and corporate governance issues. He served as National Managing Partner of Assurance and Business Services at PriceWaterhouseCoopers from 1998 to 2002. He serves as the Chairman of the B.C. Chapter of the Institute of Corporate Directors. He served as the first Chairman of the Institute of Corporate Directors British Columbia Chapter from 2002 to 2004. Mr. Chambers has been a Director of Viterra, Inc., (formerly Saskatchewan Wheat Pool Inc.) since June 2006 and Coopers Park Corporation since May 26, 2005. He serves as a Member of Aspen Planners Ltd., and Highland Pacific Mortgage Corporation. He serves as a Director of Coopers Park Real Estate Corporation and Armstrong Group Ltd. He serves on the Board of Mill and Timber Group/Mill & Timber Products Limited. Mr. Chambers serves as a Member of Advisory Board at Frontiers Capital Limited and an Associate of The Association of Corporate Treasurers. He serves on the Board of the B.C. Cancer Foundation and the Victoria Order of Nurses. He served as a Director of Macdonald Dettwiler & Associates Ltd since July 28, 2005 until May 4, 2016. He served as an Independent Director at Elephant & Castle Group Inc. from June 25, 2002 to April 20, 2007. He served as a Director of Catalyst Paper Corporation (formerly known as Norske Skog Canada Ltd.) from October 30, 2003 to August 27, 2012; FortisBC Energy Inc. (also known as, Terasen Gas Inc.) since 2003 and FortisBC Holdings Inc. (also known as, Terasen Inc.) since September 18, 2003. He graduated from the Directors Education Program of the Institute of Corporate Directors. He has been a Chartered Accountant since 1969. Mr. Chambers holds a B.A. Degree from the University of British Columbia and is a Fellow of the B.C. Institute of Chartered Accountants in 1995.
