Biography
Mr. Timothy J. Hearn, also known as Tim, B.Sc., served as the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Imperial Oil Ltd., a subsidiary of Exxon Mobil Corp. from April 23, 2002 to March 31, 2008. Mr. Hearn has over 40 years experience in the oil and gas industry. He served as the President of Imperial Oil Ltd. from April 23, 2002 to January 2008. He joined Imperial Oil limited in 1967 as a Marketing Representative and served as its Vice President of Marketing Retail Business since 1986. He held a series of progressively more responsible executive positions with Imperial Oil limited and its affiliates and served as Vice President of Human Resources at Exxon Mobil Corporation since 1999. Mr. Hearn served as a Worldwide Vice President of Intermediates for Exxon Chemical Company and served as the President of the Exxon's Asia-Pacific operations, based in Singapore. He served as an Executive Assistant of the Exxon Corp's Chairman since 1997. He serves as the Chairman of Hearn and Associates. He serves as the Chairman of the Board and an honorary director of the C.D. Howe Institute. He has been an Independent Director of ARC Resources Ltd. since June 22, 2011. He has been a Director of Viterra Inc., since May 2008. He served as a Director of RBC Financial Group at Athene Annuity & Life Assurance Company since 2006. He served as an Independent Director at Royal Bank of Canada since March 3, 2006 until April 10, 2015. Mr. Hearn served as a Director for Imperial Oil Ltd. from January 1, 2002 to March 31, 2008. He served as an Executive Officer of Exxon Mobil Corp. He has been an Independent Director of CGI Group Inc. since 2015. He served as a Director of Tuckamore Capital Management Inc. He serves as the Chairs the Calgary Homeless Foundation. He is a Member of the Canadian Council of Chief Executives and Co-Chairs a national fundraising campaign for the university of Alberta. He also Co-Chairs a multi-year, fundraising campaign for the University of Alberta and Chairs a fundraising campaign for Tyndale University College. He is also the Chair of the Advisory Board of the Public Policy School and a member of the Dean's Medical School Advisory Board, both at the University of Calgary. He is a member of the Joint Committee (JPAC) of the Commission for Environmental Cooperation (CEC). Mr. Hearn holds a Bachelor of Science degree from University of Manitoba.
